SHM Engineering College is one of the prestigious project of Kadakkal Educational Trust. The institution is envisaged as a Centre of Excellence, which in turn will bring out technocrats with superior skill and social commitment. The College library was established with the inception of the college in 2002. Now
library is functioning in a separate building , it is aesthetic in its appearance and very spacious with a plinth area of 4,000 sq.feet. All the members of staff and students of the college are entitled to use the library facilities on taking library membership..

NSS   HOSTEL   LIBRARY
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an All India Scheme initiated by the Union Ministry of Education and implemented at the colleges through the universities.
SHM Engineering College has provided the hostel facility for girls in the view of providing a secure atmosphere to girls. The hostel is located in the campus.

Training and Placements cells
The Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU) was started in this college as a voluntary organization in January 2002. The Placement Officer who is assisted by student representatives from all the departments heads this unit. The Principal of the institution and all other faculty members have extended their wholehearted support to the functioning of the unit.
